웬말인가 날위하여

주 돌아가셨나

​

A-las! and did my Sav-iour bleed,

and did my Sov-ereign die?

​

이 벌레 같은 날 위해

큰 해받으셨나

​

Would He de-vote that sa-cred head

For such a worm as I?

​

내 지은 죄 다지시고

못 박히셨으니

​

Was it for crimes that I have done,

He groaned up-on the tree?

웬 일인가 웬 은혠가

그 사랑크셔라

​

A-maz-ing pit-y! grace un-known!

And love be-yond de-gree!

주 십자가 못 박힐 때

그 해도 빛 잃고

​

Well might the sun in dark-ness hide,

And shut his glo-ries in,

그 밝은 빛 가리워서

캄캄케 되었네

​

When Christ, the migh-ty Mak-er, died

For man, the crea-ture's sin.

나 십자가 대할 때에

그 일이 고마워

Thus might I hide my blush-ing face
